We've been doing some celebrating around here. So I made this Banana Split Ice Cream Cake (all of which Quinn could eat except for the Oreo crust at the bottom) in honor of our many reasons to celebrate. Ok, on the Pioneer Woman website it actually looked like this:

Pretty darn festive (and pretty darn appetizing) right? The two pictures look a little different, but I'm sure it's just the photography. :) And anyway, it sure tasted great!
Here are some reasons we've been celebrating.
Quinn FINALLY got his grades back from last semester and did AWESOME. Nothing like good grades to make the whole world look brighter. Now we're moving into the job searching phase and I know there are good things in store for my Main Man.
I attended a Hypnobirthing Practitioner Certification course (Quinn watched Caitlyn all four days, bless his heart) and I am now a Hypnobirthing Practitioner. People, I know the name sounds weird, but it is the most amazing program and I am in love with it and I am totally celebrating the fact that I can now officially teach it to other couples. If you've always thought giving birth has to be painful and traumatic unless you're numb from the waste down, give me a call sometime, I would LOVE to chat. :) I still daydream about how peaceful and amazing Caitlyn's birth was, and I am joyfully looking forward to giving birth to our growing baby boy. Here are the inspiring women who were in the class with me.
We're celebrating Caitlyn 'cause we think she's just so darn cute. Plus she's actually started growing some hair, so her baby mullet is filling in a bit. That's a long-awaited cause for celebration! Also, she just teethed four molars -- one on each side, top and bottom, which seems like it would be incredibly painful and would explain a bit of recent grumpiness.
We all have a thousand reasons to celebrate everyday if you think about it! So it's nice every once in a while to do something specific in acknowledgment of how tremendously blessed we all are, even in spite of the trials and challenges that are just a part of life.
Hey!! That is so neat- we took a Hypnobabies class in preparation for Vivian's birth and really enjoyed it. The birth didn't go exactly as I'd/we'd hoped because I had to be induced, but we learned so much. And, I didn't know you were pregnant with a boy!!! Wow! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Quinn for your grades.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Caitlyn for growing some hair. :)
The dessert looks amazingly yummy!! You are right we do have a thousand reasons to celebrate everyday!
Mmmm that looks so delicious! You guys should apply for jobs out here. Yay for Caitlyn getting hair!
ReplyDeleteThis is the treat you mentioned the other day. It looks awesome. I may try that in the near future. haha. Then again, I need to watch my weight. I didn't know you've become a hypnobirthing practitioner. Congrats! I'm so glad you finally made it. And also congrats on Quinn's grades. I know we have so many things we're grateful for.
